Opinion essay Remote learning
Текстовая версия:
Remote learning With the unexpected breakout of the Coronavirus pandemic, traditional education should have been updated to keep the learners and educators safe and healthy and the virtual world has come to the rescue. Pandemic pushed more and more educational institutions to switch to remote learning as it has risen as an option to ordinary face to face classes. In my opinion, despite several benefits of remote learning as accessibility and flexibility, it cannot be utilized to replace traditional learning. On the one hand, remote learning provides the flexibility to complete assignments and courses from anywhere, anytime, and at one’s own pace. It enables the students to prevent a commute and even the stress of trying to reach the class on time. Moreover, remote learning allows the students to keep up with their part-time or full-time work hours and various duties, whilst earning a diploma or a degree. Furthermore, learners gather useful technology experience during remote learning. They can boost their internet and computer skills, as well as transfer the knowledge and skills obtained to other aspects of their lives, including their upcoming careers. For students inclined to procrastinate, remote learning can be tough to get it together and motivation turns out to be a stress. Since most of the remote learning is dependent upon a student’s ability and skills to complete self-managed work, students who do well in routine and direction could find remote learning deficient. Another difficulty that distance learners may encounter with this mode of study is the requirement of solid technical skills. Distance education also includes some hidden costs, such as keeping and purchasing a computer and other facilities to thrive in the learning process. In conclusion, it is not too much to say that alongside a few benefits and flexibility, remote learning has some disadvantages and cons related. Presently, in comparison with the traditional form of education, a remote form is inferior in quality and efficiency; therefore, traditional education cannot be replaced by distance learning. In this way, to make remote learning more efficient and extensive, it is crucial to diminish and avoid all these previously mentioned factor
